New Testament Suggested Reading Order

If you attempt to read the typical arrangement of the Bible, beginning at the first book and proceeding to the end, you will notice that the books are not arranged in chronological order. In my reading and study of the New Testament I have come up with the following suggestion for reading the New Testament in chronological order:

Matthew
Mark
Luke
John

Acts 1 - 8
James
Acts 9 - 15:35
Galatians, written by Paul after his 1st missionary journey
Acts 15:36 - 18:17
1 Thessalonians, written by Paul while in Corinth on his 2nd missionary journey
2 Thessalonians
Acts 18:18 - 19:22
1 Corinthians, written by Paul while in Ephesus on his 3rd missionary journey
Acts 19:23 - 20:1
2 Corinthians, written by Paul while in Macedonia on his 3rd missionary journey
Acts 20:2 - 20:3
Romans, written by Paul while around Corinth on his 3rd missionary journey
Acts 20:4 - 28

Written by Paul while imprisoned at Rome in his own rented house:
   Ephesians
   Colossians
   Philemon
   Philippians

Written by Paul on a 4th missionary journey after being released from imprisonment in Rome:
   1 Timothy
   Titus

Written by Paul during a 2nd imprisonment at Rome in a dungeon:
   2 Timothy

Hebrews
1 Peter
2 Peter
Jude
1 John
2 John
3 John
Revelation

I hope that you find this suggestion helpful in your study of the New Testament scriptures.
