Survey 157 of Sainte Genevieve & New Bourbon Series

Plat and description of the survey of a lot, situated in Block number nine of the Town of Sainte Genevieve in Township thirty eight, North of the base line, Range nine East of the fifth principal Meridian, in the State of Missouri, executed on the eighteenth of January eighteen hundred forty seven, by Joseph C. Brown, Deputy Surveyor, under instructions from the Surveyor of the public lands in the States of Illinois and Missouri dated the ninth of December eighteen hundred forty six. This being the lot of fifty by ninety feet confirmed to Francois Moreau's legal representatives by the act of Congress of the thirteenth of June eighteen hundred and twelve; the extent and boundaries whereof were proven before Theodore Hunt, United States Recorder of land titles, on the twenty fourth of October eighteen hundred twenty five, under the act of Congress of the twenty sixth of May eighteen hundred and twenty four, entitled: "An act supplementary to an act passed on the thirteenth day of June one thousand eight hundred and twelve, entitled: 'An act making further provision for settling the claims to land in the Territory of Missouri' ".




Description:

Begin at the intersection of the eastern edge of Little Rock street with the northern edge of Second street, the south-west corner of this lot and of the block.

Thence North, eighty one degrees and fifteen minutes East along the southern boundary of this lot, and the northern edge of Second street; at one hundred thirty nine feet and seven inches a lime stone, marked with a cross on the top, the south-east corner of this lot, and the south-west corner of a lot of school land survey number three hundred and fifty nine.

Thence North four degrees and thirty minutes West along the eastern boundary of this lot and the western boundary of the lot of school land; at one hundred twenty five feet the north-east corner of this lot, and the north-west corner of the lot of school land, on the southern boundary of another lot of Francois Moreau's legal representatives, survey number three hundred forty nine.

Thence South, eighty degrees West along the northern boundary of this lot and the southern boundary of the lot numbered three hundred forty nine; at one hundred forty three feet and eight inches the north-west corner of this lot and the south-west corner of lot three hundred forty nine, at a point one foot southward from the north-west corner of a small wooden house on the eastern edge of Little Rock street.

Thence South, six degrees and twenty five minutes East along the western boundary of this lot and the eastern edge of Little Rock street; at one hundred twenty two feet and nine inches the beginning corner.

Plat and description of the survey of a lot in Block number nine of the town of Sainte Genevieve in Township thirty eight, north of the base line, Range nine east of the fifth principal Meridian in the State of Missouri, executed on the twenty second day of October eighteen hundred and forty, by Jos. C. Brown, Deputy Surveyor, under instructions from the Surveyor of the public lands in the States of Illinois and Missouri, dated the third of September, eighteen hundred and forty. It being the lot of "one half arpen by about one deep" confirmed to John Baptiste Vallé senior, by the act of Congress of the thirteenth of June, eighteen hundred and twelve; the extent and boundaries whereof were proven before Theodore Hunt, United States Recorder of land titles in the State of Missouri, on the twenty fifth day of October eighteen hundred and twenty five, under the provisions of the act of Congress of the twenty sixth of May eighteen hundred and twenty four, entitled: "an act supplementary to an act passed on the thirteenth day of June one thousand eight hundred and twelve, entitled: 'an act making further provision for settling the claims to land in the Territory of Missouri' ".




Description: Begin at a lime stone, at the intersection of the southern edge of Third street with the eastern edge of Little Rock street, the north-west corner of this lot and of Block number nine.

Thence south six degrees and twenty five minutes east, along the western boundary of this lot and the eastern edge of Little Rock street, at one hundred and ninety two feet and nine inches, a lime stone, the south-west corner of this lot, and the north-west corner of a vacant lot.

Thence north seventy eight degrees east along the southern boundary of this lot, and the northern boundary of the vacant lot, at ninety nine feet the south-east corner of this lot, and the south-west corner of the lot of Nicholas Laplante's legal representatives, survey numbered one hundred and fifty six.

Thence north six degrees and forty five minutes west, along the eastern boundary of this lot, and the western boundary of the lot of Nicholas Laplante, at one hundred and ninety four feet, a lime stone, on the southern edge of Third street, the north-east corner of this lot, and the north-west corner of the lot of Nicholas Laplante.

Thence south seventy seven degrees and ten minutes west along the northern boundary of this lot and the southern edge of Third street; at ninety eight feet and six inches the beginning corner.

Vallé senior, survey numbered one hundred and fifty nine.

Thence south six degrees and forty five minutes east along the western boundary of this lot and the eastern boundary of the lot of J. B. Vallé senior, at one hundred and ninety four feet the south-west corner of this lot and the south-east corner of the lot of J. B. Vallé senior, on the northern boundary line of a vacant lot.

Thence north seventy eight degrees east along the southern boundary of this lot and the northern boundary of the vacant lot, at ninety six feet and four inches a cedar post, the south-east corner of this lot, the north-east corner of the vacant lot, and a corner of the lot of J. B. Vallé senior numbered one hundred and fifty eight.

Thence north seven degrees west along the eastern boundary of this lot and a western boundary line of the lot of J. B. Vallé senior, at one hundred and ninety five feet and three inches the beginning corner.

Plat and description of the survey of the exterior boundary lines of block No. 9 in the town of Ste Genevieve situated in township 38 north of the base line range 9 east of the 5th principal meridian in the state of Missouri surveyed on the 1st day of October in the year 1840 by Joseph C. Brown deputy Surveyor under instructions from the Surveyor of the public lands in the States of Illinois and Missouri dated the 3rd of September 1840.




Description

Begin at the S.W. corner of the block at the intersection of the eastern edge of little rock street with the northern edge of 2nd Street, which place is so obstructed by curb stones that I cannot set a Stone for corner, thence N81 1/4°E along the northern edge of 2nd Street the southern boundary of the block 380 feet 6 inches the S.E. corner of the block at the intersection of the northern edge of 2nd Street with the western edge of Gabori Street where I set a limestone with its S.E. corner at the S.E. corner of the block, thence N5°35'W along the western edge of Gabori Street the eastern boundary of the block 389 feet 2 inches the N.E. corner of the block at the intersection of the western edge of Gabori Street with the southern edge of 3rd Street where I set a lime Stone with its N.E. corner at the N.E. corner of the block, thence S77°10'W along the S.E. edge of 3rd Street the N.W. boundary of the block 388 feet 7 inches the N.W. corner of the block at the intersection of the S.E. edge of 3rd Street with the eastern edge of little rock Street where I set a lime Stone with its N.W. corner at the N.W. corner of the block, thence S6°25'E along the eastern edge of little rock street the western boundary of the block 360 feet 6 inches to the beginning. On the top of each of said Corner Stones I have had a cross made.

Survey 352 of Sainte Genevieve & New Bourbon Series

Plat and description of the survey of a lot, situated in the Town of Sainte Genevieve in Township thirty eight, North of the base line, Range nine East of the fifth principal Meridian, in the State of Missouri, executed by Joseph C. Brown, Deputy Surveyor, on the tenth of November eighteen hundred and forty, and on the thirteenth of January eighteen hundred forty seven, under instructions from the Surveyor of the public lands in the States of Illinois and Missouri, dated the third of September eighteen hundred forty and the ninth of December eighteen hundred forty six. This being the lot of two by two arpens granted to John Baptiste Labreche on the twenty seventh of March seventeen hundred eighty nine, by the proper authorities of the spanish Government, (See page 397 of Book C in the Office of the United States Recorder of land titles.) It was confirmed to Nicholas Janis, or his legal representatives, under John Baptiste Labreche by the Old Board of Commissioners appointed in pursuance of an act of Congress of the second of March eighteen hundred and five, entitled: "An act for ascertaining and adjusting the titles and claims to land within the Territory of Orleans and the District of Louisiana" for which they issued their certificate (No. 1191) on the 15th of August 1811. See minutes of the Board No. 5 page 309 and American State Papers Vol. II p. 598.

This lot was also claimed, as being five by two arpens, by Francis Janis senior, and the extent and boundaries thereof were proven before Theodore Hunt, United States Recorder of land titles, on the first of October eighteen hundred twenty five, under the act of Congress of the twenty sixth of May eighteen hundred twenty four, entitled: "An act supplementary to an act passed on the thirteenth day of June one thousand eight hundred and twelve, entitled: 'An act making further provision for settling the claims to land in the Territory of Missouri' ".



Description: Begin at a lime stone set at the intersection of the eastern edge of Hill street with the northern edge of Seraphin street, the south-west corner of this lot.

Thence North, seventy six degrees and forty five minutes East along the southern boundary of this lot, and the northern edge of Seraphin street; at five hundred thirty nine feet and ten inches the south-east corner of this lot at the south-east corner of the enclosure thereof on the western edge of New Bourbon street.

Thence North, fourteen degrees and thirty minutes West along the eastern boundary of this lot and the western edge of New Bourbon street; at one hundred three feet and seven inches a corner of this lot and of its enclosure.

Thence North, sixty one degrees West along a north-eastern line of this lot and the south-western edge of a road on and along the right bank of the South Fork of Gabori creek; at four hundred twenty one feet and seven inches the place of a corner of this lot, from which the north west corner of the stone foundation of a house bears North, twenty nine degrees West, two links distant.

Thence North thirty nine degrees and thirty minutes West, along a north-eastern line of this lot and the south-western edge of the said road; at one hundred forty six feet and six inches the most northern corner of this lot at the intersection of the south-western edge of the said road with the south-eastern edge of Hill street.

Thence South, nineteen degrees West along the most north-western line of this lot and the south-eastern edge of Hill street; at one hundred thirty two feet and three inches a lime stone set for a corner of this lot.

Thence South, one degree East along the most western line of this lot and the eastern edge of Hill street; at four hundred sixteen feet and one inch the beginning corner.
