Survey 168 of Sainte Genevieve & New Bourbon Series

Plat and description of the survey of a lot situated in block No. 15 of the town of Sainte Genevieve in township 38 North of the base line range 9 East of the 5th principal Meridian in the State of Missouri, surveyed on the 24th day of October in the year 1840 by Joseph C. Brown deputy Surveyor under instructions from the Surveyor of the public lands in the States of Illinois and Missouri, dated the 3rd day of September 1840. The said lot was claimed by Nicholas Roussin's legal representatives as being about three fourths of an arpent front by about one arpent deep and the boundaries and extent thereof proven before the recorder of land titles in the State of Missouri on the 26th day of October 1825 under the act of Congress approved the 26th of May 1824, entitled an act supplementary to an act passed on the 13th day of June 1812, entitled an act making further provision for settling the claims to land in the Territory of Missouri.


Description

Begin at the NW corner of the lot being the NW corner of block No. 15 at the NW corner of a lime Stone there set; thence S8°E along the eastern edge of Court Street, the western boundary of this lot, 187 feet 5 inches, set a lime Stone at the eastern edge of Court Street for the SW corner of this lot and NW corner of a vacant lot; thence N78°20'E along the SE boundary of this lot and NW boundary of a vacant lot, 254 feet 3 inches to the place of SE corner of this lot and NE corner of a vacant lot on the SW boundary line of the lot of Francois Lalumendiere's legal representatives, in a stable where I cannot set a corner; thence N8 3/4°W along the SW boundary line of said Lalumendiere's lot, the NE boundary in part of this lot, 12 feet 6 inches, the NW corner of the lot of said Lalumendiere's legal representatives, the NW corner of a post at the NW corner of a stable; thence N10 1/4°W along the NE boundary of this lot, the SW boundary of Parfait Dufour's lot, 188 feet 7 inches to the NE corner of this lot and NW corner of Parfait Dufour's lot at the SE edge of 3rd Street at the curb stones set across the sidewalk; thence S75°48'W along the S.E. edge of 3rd Street, the NW boundary of this lot, 248 feet 11 inches to the beginning.

Plat and description of the survey of a lot in Block number fifteen of the town of Sainte Genevieve, in Township thirty eight north of the base line, Range nine east of the fifth principal Meridian in the State of Missouri, executed on the twenty fourth day of October eighteen hundred and forty, by Jos. C. Brown, Deputy Surveyor, under instructions from the Surveyor of the public lands in the States of Illinois and Missouri, dated the third of September eighteen hundred and forty. It being the lot of "three quarters of an arpent front by one deep," confirmed to Parfait Dufour by the act of Congress of the thirteenth of June eighteen hundred and twelve; the extent and boundaries whereof were proven before Theodore Hunt, United States Recorder of land titles in the State of Missouri, on the twenty sixth day of October eighteen hundred and twenty five, under the provisions of the act of Congress of the twenty sixth of May eighteen hundred and twenty four, entitled: "an act supplementary to an act passed on the thirteenth day of June one thousand eight hundred and twelve, entitled: 'an act making further provision for settling the claims to land in the Territory of Missouri' ".



Description: Begin at a lime stone at the intersection of the western edge of Little Rock Street with the southern edge of Third Street, the north-east corner of this lot and of Block number fifteen.

Thence south seventy five degrees and forty eight minutes west along the northern boundary of this lot and the southern edge of Third Street, at one hundred and ninety feet and nine inches the north-west corner of this lot, and the north-east corner of the lot of Nicholas Roussin's legal representatives, survey numbered one hundred and sixty eight, at the curb stones across the side walk.

Thence south ten degrees and fifteen minutes east along the western boundary of this lot and the eastern boundary of the lot of Nicholas Roussin, at one hundred and eighty eight feet and seven inches, the North-west corner of the post of the north-west corner of a stable, which is the south-west corner of this lot and the north-west corner of the lot of Francois Lalumendiere's legal representatives, survey numbered one hundred and sixty nine.

Thence north seventy seven degrees east along the southern boundary of this lot and the northern boundary of the lot of F. Lalumendiere, at one hundred and seventy eight feet and six inches a lime stone on the western edge of Little Rock street, the south-east corner of this lot and the north-east corner of the lot of Francois Lalumendiere.

Thence north six degrees and twenty five minutes west along the eastern boundary of this lot and the western edge of Little Rock street, at one hundred and ninety three feet and eleven inches the beginning corner.

Plat and description of the survey of the exterior boundary lines of block No. 15 in the town of Ste. Genevieve situated in township 38 North of the base line range 9 East of the 5th principal Meridian in the State of Missouri. Surveyed on the 1st day of October in the year 1840 by Joseph C. Brown deputy Surveyor under instructions from the Surveyor of the public lands in the States of Illinois and Missouri dated the 3rd day of September 1840.



Description

Begin at the SW corner of the block at the intersection of the NW edge of 2nd Street with the N.E. edge of Court Street which intersection is 11 1/2 inches S 81 1/4 W from the S.W. corner of a brick house standing on the block, thence N 81 1/4 E along the N.W. edge of 2nd Street the S.E. boundary of the block 427 feet to the S.E. corner of the block at the intersection of the NW edge of 2nd Street with the SW edge of little rock Street which intersection is N6°25'W 3 feet 4 inches from the S.E. corner of the porch of a house standing on the block; thence N6°25'W 358 feet 2 inches to the N.E. corner of the block at the intersection of the S.W. edge of little rock Street with the S.E. edge of 3rd Street; thence S75°48'W along the S.E. edge of 3rd Street the NW boundary of the block 439 feet 9 inches the N.W. corner of the block at the intersection of the S.E. edge of 3rd Street with the N.E. edge of Court Street where I set a lime stone with its N.W. corner at the N.W. corner of the block; thence S8E along the N.E. edge of Court Street the S.W. boundary of the block 315 feet 5 inches the beginning. On the top of each of Said corner stones I have had a cross made.

Thence south eighty seven degrees and fifteen minutes east along the southern boundary of this lot and the northern boundary of the lot of Francois Vallé; at two hundred and one feet and three inches a lime stone, the most southern corner of this lot, the north-east corner of the lot of Francois Vallé, and the north-west corner of the lot of J. Bte. Pratte senior, survey numbered one hundred and fifty two.

Thence north eighty five degrees and fifteen minutes east along the southern boundary of this lot and the northern boundary of the lot of J. B. Pratte senior; at eighteen feet and six inches a cedar post, the south-east corner of this lot and the south-west corner of the lot of Veuve Bolduc's legal representatives, survey numbered one hundred and fifty three.

Thence north eight degrees and forty five minutes west along the eastern boundary of this lot and the western boundary of the lot of Veuve Bolduc; at one hundred and eighty six feet the north-east corner of a barn on the southern edge of Second street, which is the north-east corner of this lot and the north-west corner of the lot of Veuve Bolduc.

Thence south eighty one degrees and fifteen minutes west along the northern boundary of this lot and the southern edge of Second Street; at one hundred and ninety nine feet and three inches the beginning corner.

Thence south eighty one degrees and fifteen minutes west along the northern boundary of this lot and the southern edge of Second street, at one hundred and eighty two feet and nine inches the north-east corner of a barn, which is the north-west corner of this lot and the north-east corner of the lot of Jacques Courtois' legal representatives, survey numbered one hundred and fifty five.

Thence south eight degrees and forty five minutes east along the western boundary of this lot and the eastern boundary of the lot of Jacques Courtois, at ninety one feet, the south-west corner of this lot.

Thence north eighty three degrees and thirty minutes east along the southern boundary of this lot, at one hundred and seventy eight feet and two inches the south-east corner of this lot on the western edge of Gabori street.

Thence north five degrees and thirty five minutes west along the eastern boundary of this lot and the western edge of Gabori street, at ninety eight feet and eight inches the beginning corner.
